Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 – Orange Crush RHS

2019 Yamaha Xabre (MT-15) Render Is Pretty Close To The Real Deal

Recently, we saw the test mules of the next-generation Yamaha Xabre (M-Slaz 150/MT-15) in Indonesia. The spy photographs revealed several details of the motorcycle which is expected to reach international markets in 2019. While the motorcycle is still some time away from making its debut, digital renders from Motoblast are pretty close to the real deal.

2019 Yamaha Xabre (MT 15 Or M Slaz 150) Render (1)

The motorcycles, rendered with MT-09 inspired paint options, gets all the styling cues that were seen on the test mules. The hardware list includes upside down telescopic front forks, full LED headlight, updated tank and shroud design, new underbelly guard, dual tone exhaust with brushed aluminium tip, a single piece saddle and clear covers for blinkers and LED tail light.

2019 Yamaha Xabre (MT 15 Or M Slaz 150) Render (4)

The styling of the next generation motorcycle is far subtle compared to the current generation motorcycle.

Mechanical specifications are likely to receive an upgrade too.  The roadster is the naked version of Yamaha’s track tool, the YZF-R15. The new 2018 Yamaha YZF-R15 received a major visual and mechanical overhaul. The spec sheet is expected to be carried on the Xabre/MT-15 as well. Thus, the roadster will most likely get the new 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that powers the latest generation Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0. The performance numbers are also likely to go higher that the current motorcycle’s 149 cc liquid cooled fuel injected motor that develops 16 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.3 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.

In Conversation With Bruised Passport’s Savi & Vidit: Exploring Jaipur On A 1969 Jawa 250

How often do you meet someone who has spent most of their lives exploring the planet. We met two such enthusiasts who have spent last 12 years traveling across 80 countries. Savi Munjal and Vidit Taneja of Bruised Passports tell us what motivated them to make traveling your full-time occupation and about their latest adventure, a motorcycle ride across Jaipur.

Savi Munjal and Vidit Taneja rode a beautifully restored 1969 Jawa 250 to explore the heritage treasures of Jaipur. Aptly stated on their Instagram Bruised Passports, “Exploring Jaipur’s old-world charms on a vintage bike – (is a) day well spent”.

The travelling couple have been on many unique getaways but riding on a classic legend such as the Jawa added a whole new edge to their travel experience. Vidit, who is also an expert photographer, captured some great pictures with the both of them in riding gear and with some heritage locations in the backdrop.

Savi Munjal and Vidit Taneja of Bruised Passports – Jawa 250 In Jaipur (1)

The rugged Jawa, often passed on as a prized family heirloom, has been ridden around the globe, not just for winning races, but also for leisure rides on scenic roads accompanied by the iconic sound of the bike. The brand which used to be a strong player in the Indian market in the 60s still receives love from enthusiasts and that iconic sound of the Jawa on the road still manages to make head turns.

We caught up with the duo for a quick interview about their lives as full-time travelers and their experience with the Jawa 250.

Q: A lot of people aspire to travel the world but very few actually do it. What motivated you to make traveling your full-time occupation?

Ever since we were teenagers, we would save every penny we could for travelling. After we had visited 50 countries or so, a lot of friends started asking us for tips to explore destinations. So, we thought we would put everything we had learnt, on the web! Almost 10 years after we first started travelling together, we decided to blog about it and eventually make it our profession. The motivation behind it was to see as much of the world as we could and design our lives the way we wanted them to be.

Q: Of all the places you’ve visited over 12 years, which one tops the list? What’s your favourite memory?

We loved Iceland. Standing under the Northern Lights, near a lagoon full of icebergs tops our list of memories in the country.

Savi Munjal and Vidit Taneja of Bruised Passports – Jawa 250 In Jaipur (2)

Q: How was your experience on a retro classic instead of a modern day motorcycle to explore Jaipur?

Riding a retro classic in Jaipur was perfect because it complimented Jaipur’s vintage charms to the tee. The old world charm of Jaipur and the Jawa motorcycle made it a match made in heaven. Perhaps it’s no coincidence they both start with the alphabet J. *smiles*

Q: Did you suffer any mechanical problems while you rode the Jawa 250?

None whatsoever. The ride was smooth and exciting. In fact, we ended up wanting to keep it with us for a few more days!

Q: What’s next on your travel list? Would you do it on a motorcycle?

Sri Lanka. We’d love to do it on a bike. It would be amazing to ride along the coastline on a vintage beauty.

Q: What are your top five tips for aspiring travellers?

  1. Don’t try to pack your trips with too much to do. Leave room to lay back and absorb the place
  2. Start small – take a short trip or even a day trip. Continue travelling if you truly enjoy it
  3. Pack light – you need less than you think you need
  4. Keep an open mind
  5. Try the local food and indulge in as many local experiences as you can

The Yamaha YZF-R15 V2.0 was a major step-up over the first generation motorcycle, bringing a sportier design to the 150cc segment. However, the tall pillion seat was not appreciated by everyone which led to the introduction of the YZF-R15 S, a motorcycle that brought back the single piece saddle of the first generation motorcycle to an updated package of the YZF-R15 V2.0.

It’s the car that purists find to be the authentic successor to the M3. The original M3 was a car which had a small body shape, a straight six engine, rear wheel drive and most importantly did not burn a hole in your pocket. With the 3 series getting longer and wider every generation, the current generation M3 has lost on the principles the M3 was created on. BMW may or may not have realised that but what they did was give their smaller 2 series sedan the ‘M’ treatment and badged it the M2. The M2 in many ways does what the M3 was supposed to do and after a long wait we finally see the car making its way to Indian shores.

BMW M2 (26)

A Motoroids Exclusive reveal, below is all you need to know about the M2 coming to India.

India shall get the “Competition Pack” variant of the M2. The said pack comes with major exterior changes which include new M style mirrors, adaptive LED headlights, a de-chromed glossy black kidney grill and additional air vents for cooling. The Indian model misses out on a standard Carbon Fibre roof and Carbon Fibre mirrors in order to keep the ex showroom price low. However the car can be ordered with the same as an optional extra.

BMW M2 (24)

Under the bonnet lies a twin turbo 2,979 cc inline six engine. The engine is rated to produce a maximum of 410 HP at 5,250 rpm and 550 nm of torque available from 2,350 rpm to 5,230 rpm. As standard a high performance Carbon-Fibre strut is added in the bonnet for high rigidity while keeping the overall weight low. A two pass exhaust system with electronically controlled flaps is also standard. While International markets have an option of either a six speed manual or a 7 speed dual clutch. India will only receive the Automatic dual clutch.

Our reliable sources have also confirmed that the Interior trim of the Sports Coupe will only be available in a high gloss black with a pearl chrome finish. Standard Equipment in the Interior includes the new design instrument cluster in black panel technology, A M leather steering wheel with M1 and M2 buttons, which saves driver settings, A door sill with M2 competition bagding, M colours stitched in the seat belt and sport seats. Available exterior colours include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Long Beach Blue, Sunset Orange and Hockenheim Silver. The latter two are new colour options that have been made available for our market.

BMW M2 (28)

The car gets larger M-Sport brakes with enlarged brake discs. The brake calliper comes painted grey as standard with the possibility of being customised at an additional cost. The front tyres are 245/35 R 19 tyres and the rear gets 265/35 R 19 tyres. As standard the car gets 19 inch M light weight alloy wheels. Y spoke design alloy wheels come as an optional extra. A full size alloy wheel also is standard.

BMW M2 (10)

The standard equipment includes M Leather steering wheel, M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic Active, M Differential, M Servotronic, M Dynamic Mode, M Drive settings (M1/M2 buttons), Locking wheel bolts, Tyre repair kit, Rear View Camera, Floor mats in velour, Warning triangle, Interior and exterior mirrors with automatic anti-dazzle, Interior rear view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle, Smokers package, Seat adjustment electrical, with memory, Sport seats for driver and front passenger, Storage compartment package, Armrest front, sliding M seat Belts, Headlight washer system, Park Distance Control (PDC) front and rear, Rain sensor, Automatic air conditioning, 2-zone Cruise control with braking function, Speedometer with kilometer reading, Adaptive LED headlights, Lights package, High-beam assistant, Rear-seat headrests, folding Radio, BMW Professional HiFi loudspeaker system (205W, 7 speakers), Hands-free facility with USB interface Instrument cluster with extended contents, BMW Individual high-gloss, Shadow Line BMW, Individual headliner anthracite, BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line with extended contents, M Sport Exhaust System, Full size spare wheel.

Our sources have also confirmed an October 2018 launch where the car would be made available at a price tag of INR 85,00,000(Ex-Showroom, Mumbai). With options like the Harman Kardon music system coming in at a price of INR 2,00,000 its safe to say the car would easily cross the 1 Crore mark when packed with options. Going against the likes of the Audi TT and the 718 Cayman, the M2 is an interesting product to look out for.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift has held a stable position in the Indian car market. Backed by the trust of a lot of happy Indian customers, it has always been the leader in its segment. Many companies have tried to dethrone the Swift and failed. The Hyundai Grand I10 has been quite successful in its own right, if not as a tool to beat the Swift. LaunLaun in 2013, the Grand I10 was a replacement to the Hyundai I10. Now at the end of its life, a new generation Grand I10 was spotted in a production ready form.

The spy images courtesy of cafe.naver.com showcase certain exterior design elements. The car appears to be longer than the outgoing model but would definitely be under 4 meters to avail benefit in the Indian tax structure. Wider tail lights can also be seen in the spy shots however the car retains Hyundai’s signature fluidic design language.

As of now it is unclear as to which engine options could be made available. We expect the car to be equipped with the new AMT which would be seen in the upcoming AH2 hatchback instead of the 4 speed torque converter the current generation uses. We also expect Hyundai to add a bunch of new features on the interior, something they are known for.

Tata Motors continues testing the Tigor JTP as a test mule of the compact sedan was spotted once again. The latest sighting of a test mule, sporting a twin-barrel exhaust, comes from Coimbatore, courtesy Team-BHP.

Tata Tigor JTP 311

Contrary to previous sighting where the rear bumper was partially camouflaged, the latest photographs spot the test mule with an unpainted rear bumper with black inserts and parking sensors. However, the vehicle was not equipped with any reflectors, reverse lamps or chrome garnish.

Tata Tigor JTP (1)

Inside, as seen on the model showcased as a concept at the 2018 Auto Expo held in Delhi earlier this year, the Tata Tigor JTP featured an all-black theme with contrast red inserts around the HVAC vents and black leather cladding seats with red JTP badging and contrast stitching.

Tata Tigor JTP 33

Mechanical specifications on the 2018 Tata Tigor JTP are likely to include a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108 bhp and 150 Nm of torque. This engine would be paired to a five speed manual transmission.

The India launch details are scarce at the moment. However, the uncamouflaged test mule of the upcoming vehicle suggests that the premium version of the compact sedan should arrive at the showrooms in a few weeks. We’ll keep you posted with all the latest updates as and when they’re available.
